Who me?

Fancy seeing you here.

My name is Meghan, Meg for short. I know, a pretty forgettable name. But in my defense, all of the cool ones were taken by the time my mom got to the hospital, and the ‘h’ is supposed to add some of that missing flare.

So this whole word thing, I love them. I have used them in my fair share of love letters, apology notes, quirky birthday cards and playfully hung sticky notes. The note's section on my phone and the red leather journal that sits on my desk never go a day untouched.  It has been said that you can gauge how connected you are to your life’s purpose by how tired you are. Under-eye bags and ritual power naps aside, I think this is a simplified way of saying that our passions feed our energy. I recognize this feeling when I’m writing— it's a special privilege to find something that makes me feel so at home, yet so outwardly connected.

In honor of my love for words, I thought I would share a few other things I really really dig.  I mean one of the best ways to get to know a person is to be around them when their soul lights up, right?

In order to set the tone, I will start off with one that is really important: cheesy jokes with even cheesier punchlines. This one is, and will always be, my favorite….

Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom?

Because the “p” is silent.

Now THAT is art.

Other Things I Really Dig:

  • The white wicker basket that sits on the front of my blue bicycle
  • My blue bicycle
  • Playing dress-up while simultaneously twirling around my room
  • Flowers: In a painting, as a tattoo, along the highway, in a Florist. I love everything about them, in all forms.
  • Apple juice— this one's important.
  • Picnics where you really like the person on the other side of the blanket
  • Goodnight messages that make falling asleep a little easier
  • Tea kettles that scream when the water is ready
  • Stargazing— extra points if my dad is there with his telescope
  • Stealing clothes from my grandpa
  • The sound of steel drums— especially on the first day of a long-awaited vacation
  • The way honeysuckle smells
  • Old dogs (mine wears a diaper. I love him the mostest)
  • Whoever's in charge of painting the world’s sunsets
  • Drinking a glass of sparkling white wine (extra dry) out of a pretty champagne flute
  • The obnoxious noise my mom and I make when we hug each other through the phone
  • Hugs where neither person wants to be the first to let go
  • Having my arms up on a really tall roller coaster
  • Funky hats, funky shoes, funky scarves. The word funky.
  • All of you— I mean it.
